Starting with the bustling Nairobi, the journey goes to the Aberdare region in which lies the Aberdare National Park, Aberdare Ranges, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and Mt. Kenya, Africa’s second tallest mountain. The journey is then headed to Samburu where visitors can view a great variety of wildlife species in the Samburu National Park and get to experience Samburu culture. The visit to Lake Nakuru is sure to be an eye-catcher followed by a trip to the world-famous Masai Mara. Visitors get to see the ‘Big 5’ and if the season is right, The Great Migration. This journey will afford the visitor a memorable lifetime experience that they’ll talk about for a long time.
Welcome to Kenya! Morning arrival into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel (Serena Hotel). After check in you will be taken on an excursion to visit the Karen Blixen museum and the Giraffe Centre. After which you will enjoy lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden. Karen Blixen was famous for writing several books but arguably her most well known piece of work is ‘Out of Africa’, her memoirs of living in Africa. Booked on Bed and Breakfast
Enjoy your breakfast then depart to Aberdare ,proceed to the Aberdare Country Club.The club is the base hotel for the tree hotel-The Ark. Arrive late in the afternoon. Transfer to the Ark which is located in the Aberdare National Park, with small overnight bags as most of the luggage is left at the club. The Ark has various decks and balconies for easy viewing and photography of wild game. Dinner and overnight of game viewing at the lodge.
Breakfast at your lodge. Depart for Samburu. Game drive Samburu with picnic lunch en-route.
Animals commonly seen are elephants, lions, cheetahs, Grevy’s zebras, giraffes, gerenuks, buffalos, Oryx, grants gazelles, dikdiks and waterbucks. There are over 350 varieties of birds. These include the famous Somali Ostriches (distinguished by their unique purple/blue legs during mating season), kingfishers, humming birds, eagles, guinea fowls and vultures.
Arrival in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu Lodge
Full day in the reserve with game drives at 0630hrs and 1600hrs respectively. Samburu is famous for its rare mammals that only survive north of the equator. These are the gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Beira Oryx and grevy’s zebra. All meals and overnight at the SamburuLodge / Similar.
After breakfast,we drive towards the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at Lake Nakuru Lodge / Similar in time for lunch. At Nakuru enjoy an afternoon game drive in park that also takes you to the shores of the lake famous for its birdlife especially flamingos that form a pink hue across the lake. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Depart Nakuru after breakfast and drive through the floor of the Rift Valley to the world famous Masai Mara game reserve, arriving at Keekorok Lodge / Similar in time for lunch. At 1600hrs enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Full day in the reserve with both morning and afternoon game drives at 0630hrs and 1600hrs respectively. The Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti and its rolling plains are home to hundreds of plains game together with predators that feed on them. All meals and overnight at Keekorok Lodge / Similar.
Depart the Mara after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving early afternoon. Lunch at the Carnivore restaurant and then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight back home.
