This adventurous 13-night Kenyan safari takes guests from the bustling capital city, Nairobi, to the best game reserves Kenya has to offer.A Smart Travel Representative will pick you from your hotel ot the airport and drive to the Samburu National Reserve, which is where the famous film “Born Free” is based and it is known to boast a wide variety of animal and bird life.

After a 2 nights at the Samburu Lodge, guests will be driven to the Aberdare National Park, which is one of the best reserves in East Africa; encompassing a wide range of vegetative habitats and hosting a wide range of wildlife. You spend your nigh at the Ark. The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Modeled after Noah’s Ark, The Ark has four viewing decks with balconies and lounges to provide superb game viewing from the comfort of the lodge. The animals come to you!

After a night at the Aberdare National Park, guests will be driven to Lake Nakuru National Park, home to thousands of flamingos and big game species. This will provide a rustic experience for a night before you continue into the world-famous Masai Mara. The Masai Mara is home of the Wildebeest Migration the 8th wonder of the world.

Next, guests move to Lake Nakuru National Park. It is best known for its thousands, sometimes millions of flamingos nesting along the shores. Finally, guests will spend their last 2 nights in the Masai Mara National Reserve, famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration during the months of July to October; and also for its exceptional population of lions, leopards and cheetahs.

Depart Masai Mara enter the Serengeti National Park, Over 1.5 million wildebeest, 500 000 Thomson’s gazelle and 200 000 zebra travel in unison as they follow the green pastures, crossing crocodile-infested waters and try their luck at out-running the keen carnivores.After 2 nights at the Serengeti you will be driven to Ngorongoro Crater.Stay at the incredible Ngorongoro crater, where you will enjoy a luxury stay on the rim of the crater. After departing Ngorongoro you will end up at the Manyara Game Park where you will watch the Tree lions then end your Safari at the Amboseli known for its huge populations of elephants.

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Nairobi and drive to Samburu

Met on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, briefed by a Smart Travel representative and drive north through the lush Kikuyu farmlands and coffee plantation to the cool Kenyan highlands to arrive at the Samburu Lodge / Similar, in time for lunch. At 1600hrs, enjoy an afternoon game drive within the park to introduce you to the game in the area. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2Samburu

Full day in the reserve with game drives at 0630hrs and 1600hrs respectively. Samburu is famous for its rare mammals that only survive north of the equator. These are the gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Beira oryx and grevy’s zebra. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu Lodge / Similar. All meals and overnight at the Samburu Lodge.

Day 3Aberdare National Park

Depart after breakfast and proceed south to the Aberdare Country Club. The Club is the base hotel Aberdare baby leopard on treefor the tree hotel – Ark / Similar. Lunch at Aberdare Country Club and at 1430hrs, transfer to the Ark, which is located in the Aberdare National Park, with small overnight bags as most of the luggage is left at the club. The Ark has various decks and balconies for easy viewing and photography of wild game. Dinner and overnight of game viewing at the lodge.

Day 4Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, transfer back to the base hotel to retrieve rest of your luggage and drive towards the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at Lake Nakuru Lodge / Similar in time for lunch. Short siesta and at 1600 hrs, enjoy an afternoon game drive in park that also takes you to the shores of the lake famous for its birdlife especially flamingos that form a pink hue across the lake. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5Depart Nakuru to Masai Mara

Depart Nakuru after breakfast and drive through the floor of the Rift Valley to the world famous game reserve, the Masai Mara arriving at Keekorok Lodge / Similar in time for lunch. At 1600hrs enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6Masai Mara

Full day in the reserve with both morning and afternoon game drives at 0630hrs and 1600hrs respectively. Considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 650sq miles of the Maasai Mara adjoin Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one ecosystem. The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, Antelopes at the Masai Marabuffalo, eland, topi, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra. From June to September, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plain and seek out new grazing areas.

Day 7Serengeti national Park

After breakfast, embark on a 3-hour drive to Isebania border post, between Kenya and Tanzania with your lunch boxes. Once in Tanzanian territory, drive to Serengeti Sopa Lodge / Similar, arriving in mid afternoon. The Serengeti is the most famous of Tanzania’s National Parks and is known for its large amount of grazing mammals, including 1.5 million wildebeest. Serengeti is derived from the Masai word “Serenget” meaning “wide open space”. At 1600 hrs enjoy an evening game drive and then return to Ballon Safari in the serengetithe lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8Serengeti national Park

Full day in the game reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. The great plains of Serengeti are where endless streams of wildebeest and zebra pour south towards Ngorongoro or north towards the Masai Mara. Our game drives will cover the varied habitats and eco-system of Serengeti. An optional balloon safari is highly recommended to get an eagle-eye view of the magnificent wilderness and wildlife of Serengeti. The safari ends with champagne under a lone acacia tree surrounded by vast savannah grasslands. Overnight stay at Serengeti Sopa Lodge / Similar.

Day 9Ngorongoro National Park

Early morning game drive at 0630 hrs, breakfast and then depart to Ngorongoro National Park viaOlDuvai Gorge, arriving at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge / Similar in time for lunch. Ngorongoro conservation area is referred to by many as the eighth wonder of the world. Ngorongoro conservancyDinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 10Ngorongoro crater

Depart the lodge with picnic lunch boxes for a half-day of game viewing in the Ngorongoro crater. Descend down the steep walls of the caldera into a paradise of woodlands and lakes that provide for abundant wildlife. Gazelle, buffalo, elephants, wildebeest as well as big cats, particularly the black manned lion, leopards and hyena. A multitude of birds including flamingos are sighted regularly. Wildly beautiful as it is, it is not surprising that Ngorongoro crater has been called a Garden of Eden.Dinner and overnight at NgorongoroSopa Lodge / Similar.

Day 11Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast depart Ngorongoro and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge / Similar. Short siesta and at 1600 hrs, enjoy another game drive in the Park. Manyara is a Maasai word for a plant used by local people in making living stockades for their livestock. Lake Manyara National Park is situated spectacularly between the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and Lake Manyara. The most famous spectacle is the tree-climbing lions, which are occasionally seen along branches of Acacia trees. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 12Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National ParkDepart Manyara after breakfast and drive to Arusha to collect picnic lunch boxes. Proceed to Nairobi via Namanga border post. Proceed to Amboseli National Park, famous for its spectacular view of the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting). Arrive at Ol Tukai Lodge / Similar in the late afternoon. Dwarfed by the majestic snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Amboseli Serena Lodge draws on a subtle Maasai cultural motif, featuring natural woodcarvings, traditional artefacts and a glowing selection of local art. At 1600hrs enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 13Amboseli National Park

Full day in Amboseli with game drives at 0630 hrs and 1600 hrs. Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most popular national parks. It lies Carnivore Restaurant150 miles south-east of Nairobi, very close to the Tanzania border. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli. All meals and overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge / Similar.

Day 14Nairobi Carnivore restaurant Depart Home

After breakfast drive back to Nairobi arriving early afternoon. Lunch at the Carnivore restaurant and then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight back home.
